Dalmia Bharat Foundation Empowers over 650 Farmers in Belgaum with Sustainable Farming Tools

Belgaum, April 16, 2025 – Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable agriculture and community development, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), organized a large-scale agri-support distribution drive in Belgaum. As part of the initiative, onion seeds and hand-operated fertiliser broadcasters were distributed to 300 farmers, while 350 farmers received hand grass weeder tools. The fertilizer broadcasters will help ensure even distribution of fertilizers for good soil health while the hand grass weeders will assist farmers in reducing dependency on chemical herbicides. The distribution under DBF’S flagship Gram Parivartan Project is part of a broader effort by the company to promote eco-friendly and resource efficient farming practices in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prabhat Kumar Singh, Unit Head DCBL, Belgaum said, “At Dalmia Bharat, we are committed to building sustainable communities by equipping farmers with the right tools and knowledge for resilient agriculture. These interventions are especially meaningful for small and marginal farmers, helping to boost productivity, lower input costs and encourage the adoption of environment farming practices. Through such initiatives, we aim to empower local communities and promote long-term environmental and economic sustainability in the region.”

The event was led by Shri Prabhat Kumar Singh, Unit Head, DCBL Belgaum, in the esteemed presence of Shri Venktesh Maharaj of Avadooth Galeshwar Math, Tondikatti. The programme also witnessed the participation of Gram Panchayat officials and local community leaders, who appreciated the initiative for its positive impact on rural livelihoods.
