Trichy, April 3^rd 2025: Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable agriculture and livelihood development, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Limited, has distributed 1,400 tarpaulin sheets to farmers in Dalmiapuram and Ariyalur. The sheets will aid farmers to protect their crops from moisture and rain, minimize post-harvest losses and preserve crop quality. This initiative under DBF’s Gram Parivartan Project aims to empower the farming community with practical solutions that promote sustainable farming practices and enhance livelihoods. 

Crop damage caused by unpredictable weather often compels farmers to sell their produce at reduced prices, impacting their income. By providing the tarpaulin sheets, farmers can sell their produce without loss and price drop.  DBF has extended its support with a 50% financial contribution, ensuring affordability for the beneficiaries. 

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. K Vinayagamurthi, Executive Director and Unit Head – Dalmiapuram (DCBL), stated, “Dalmia Bharat continues to drive positive change by supporting rural development and uplifting communities through various sustainable initiatives. This effort not only helps farmers protect their produce but also enhances their earning potential, ultimately contributing to increased income generation and overall agricultural growth in the region.”
