In doing things the right way, the Dalmia way

Dear All

Message from the MDsWe are here for a purpose, we are here to accomplish a task that has been prearranged and we are here to leave a lasting impression on the world by doing things the right way. That's why we all are here at Dalmia Bharat. We account our success to the commitment and integrity demonstrated by our people. But success comes when we imbibe our Values and follow the guiding principles. Our attribute of 'LET'S EXCEL' is possible when we work without any trust deficit. We all are a family, the Dalmia Family, and in this family everyone is treated with respect irrespective of role or position. We believe in respecting integrity, hard work and commitment. Fair play is the next guiding principle that's followed throughout. Dalmia Bharat works for the collective interest of the society and the country. We believe in creating and sharing wealth with society at large and this is possible if we practice fair play. Always remember that the consequences of our activities will reflect on the society and the country and therefore we should refrain from doing anything that our conscience doesn't allow. Finally, we must remember that we are an enterprise and competition is inevitable but at no stage should we compromise on our principles to gain a competitive edge. So what do we do? If you're thinking what will give us the advantage, then the answer is Dharma (moral and ethical duty) and wisdom. Besides our human capital, perennial wisdom of doing the right thing, is our other most valuable resource. We like to learn and constantly challenge the existing paradigms and mindsets. Wisdom is the only way we can find new solutions to challenges that will propel us to greater heights, while remaining rooted in our values. Therefore, before we conclude let's seek the blessings of the Almighty and our elders in our journey forward and always do things the right way, the Dalmia way!

All the Best

What is it that inspires and drives an organization ? The answer of this complicated question is disarmingly simple : The wish to find out. Find out what it can do, how far it can go, what it can create, what impact it can have and how it can enrich both the individual and the collective experience. We believe "what can be" is tremendously more important than "what is" . Since 1935, we have known that what we need is not the will to believe, but the wish to find out. Self belief is a given. This 'wish to find out' is fundamental. It is the basis of all growth, of self-actualization ; and as a voyage of discovery, it creates new opportunities. It has driven and defined our life as an organization. And is central to our core. We are driven by this spirit of curiosity, of initiation and of innovation. From new and untried areas to the domains we have long played in, we constantly seek to raise the bar and find newer, untried ways of doing things . This constant tinkering with 'what is', and pushing the envelope on 'what can be' is intrinsic to us. It defines our present and charts our future.
Yet, there are constants. Rules are not as sacred as much as principles. Our principles, our values are articles of faith ; ingrained in our DNA. They are what remain constant. They energize us and support us : These are the four cardinals of Learning, Teamwork, Speed and Excellence.
Learning creates expertise, which grants competitive advantage . Teamwork helps leverage collective genius and skills ; promotes synergies. With the value of Speed we gain both scale and organizational velocity. The value of Excellence helps us exceed expectations. These four values are the four engines of our organization. They, with our overarching commitment to our most valuable asset, our people, define and deliver Dalmia Bharat to each stakeholder. Uniformly, consistently, experientially.

Thank You.
