Employee Volunteering - ROSHNI

Employee Participation in CSR Events at Plant Levels, ROSHNI – Employee Volunteering Programme. The company has an Employee Volunteering Program, called "ROSHNI" which has been conceptualized to be program that serves the Group vision and be focused on two key areas of Shared Values and Sustainability. Our employee volunteering is based on an exchange of skills and knowledge, where both the volunteer and the organization get something meaningful out of the experience. This ensures that employees have a more satisfying volunteering experience and a good working relationship with the voluntary organization. Each Employee should contribute 2 days per year to locally selected projects in the realm of water conservation, renewable energy, education, skills training, disability, working with elders, health or job creation etc. (1 day of volunteering is equivalent to 8 hours). We have identified partner NGOs in which the employees go and contribute. This has been done to ensure that our help makes a meaningful impact on the NGOs and the communities they represent. Many employees regularly go and volunteer in these organizations.

In the plant locations, employees regularly visit the communities with the CSR department and also help in the activities and events. Along with the above, employees participate and contribute at many times during the year on festivals as well as natural calamities. An instance of employees' participation is their coming together with the CSR Team to help Uttarakhand Government reconstruct 3 Primary Schools, which were damaged after the devastating floods. All employees of the company contributed a day's salary, which was matched up by the management, for the cause. The employees also contributed for the Nepal Earthquake and for the Chennai floods. We organize food donation drives, blood donation camps, collection drives among others across our company locations. In the year, 2016-17, our employees have contributed more than 32,000 man hours in socially relevant programme beyond the fence.
