Set up in 1954, Dalmia Refractories Limited (previously Shri Nataraj Ceramics and Chemical Industries Ltd.) enjoys over 50% market share in high alumina refractory bricks for the Indian cement industry. The company provides a complete line of services including refractory design and layout for green field projects, refractory application and maintenance. The refractory business of the Dalmia Bharat Group comprises of two SBUs: Dalmia-OCL and Dalmia Seven. Dalmia-OCL offers end-to-end refractory products, solutions and services to customers in 40+ countries and is backed by 6,000+ man-years of international refractory experience. It is one of the oldest and leading suppliers of refractories to cement plants in India and to the MENA (Middle East, North Africa and USA) region.
Dalmia Seven is a joint venture between Dalmia Bharat Group and Seven Refractories of Europe, for manufacturing advanced monolithics in India. It blends the Dalmia Bharat refractory business’s deep local operational know-how with cutting edge technical expertise and enviable product range of monolithics from Seven Refractories for a large variety of applications.
The organisation expanded its manufacturing footprint in Europe with the group's first-ever international acquisition of the GSB Group GmbH - a German specialty refractory maker and a global leader in lance production. GSB is known for good quality and clean steel production.
The Dalmia refractory business continues its single-minded focus to innovate and evolve and continues to work with changing production processes, learning new trends and tailoring products to meet modern-day technologies and needs.
Providing in plant services for the past 50 years to core industries including steel, cement, glass, copper, aluminium and others, the business has a highly diversified product portfolio and has complete control over its supply chain through ownership of mines. The company continues to strive for innovation through its Advanced Research Center - Dalmia Institute of Scientific & Industrial Research (DISIR).
