Health and Sanitation

Basic Health -

With the approach of bridging the gap in accessing welfare measures offered by the government and needs of the community, we designed our programme in such a way that our varied health interventions could percolate through to the last tier of the society. Since our founding we have made impressive progress in improving the health conditions of the people by reaching to them in some of the remotest locations.  So far, we have organized many health awareness programmmes, camps for ante natal, post natal care/treatment, screening camps for diabetes, dental hygiene and cardiac care and substantial awareness created on preventable diseases. As a result, in about 26 villages across all cement and sugar locations, we have directly or indirectly been able to touch the lives of almost 60,000 people.

Our diverse health programmes through camps, immunization and post/pre natal care, weekly clinics and collaboration with primary health care have benefitted and saved the health of women and children. Dedicated efforts are made to bring incidence of diabetes and BP to medical attention. We also worked to raise awareness on day to day health care and thereby reducing the percentage of opportunistic and seasonal infections people in rural areas generally face. More than 500 beneficiaries received regular and routine medical and health attention including seasonal diseases and illness, resulting in improved healthcare and well being. Special consideration was given to the programme of Maternal and Child Health Care across all locations.

More than 400 beneficiaries, including 250 women and children were provided special medical attention (Ante and Post Natal Care), immunization and nutrition, as part of the government programme. In Jawaharpur (Uttar Pradesh), Nutrition and Health Day is celebrated regularly where pregnant women and children upto the age of 5 years are immunized to fight against all vaccine preventable disease.

Sanitation & Health Awareness – Construction of 154 toilets in Kadapa  has resulted in improved health and behavior practices. In particular, this has reduced drudgery for women and girls.
